This page lists my must-have plugins for Firefox.
Note that I do not use any which do not offer the unobfuscated source code. I also do not allow any to run in private browsing sessions with the exception of uBlock Origin.
Japanese-to-English translator/dictionary. Shows an information box when hovering over Japanese text which includes both possible definitions and usages of words and phrases (including colloquialisms).
Blocks all the extra cruft on Twitter/X, like "Trends for You" and "Who to Follow" and other dopamine-exploiting ragebait nonsense.
User script manager; allows you to write JavaScript code that runs on any page (or pages of your choosing). Very useful for extending the functionality of websites.
Removes all the incredibly distracting stuff from YouTube. Also has an option to redirect Shorts videos to the normal player page, since the Shorts player is awful.
Adds an overlay when viewing a WebP image which allows you to save it as various formats.
Saves an entire Web page as a single HTML file. Unrolls CSS files and bakes Base64-encoded image data into the file itself. Very useful for preserving cool sites and articles and such.
Ad/script/tracker/etc. blocker. 100% essential for the infernal hellscape that is the modern web. Websites will tell you you're a horrible person for blocking ads, but maybe if they didn't shove 10mb of questionable JavaScript and auto-playing video ads down your throat, it wouldn't be an issue. Blocks trackers as well, so it's essential for privacy. EVERYBODY should be using this.
